Chiltern Counsellors Network is pleased to announce that we are launching a new low cost professional counselling service in the Chilterns area.
Long waiting lists for counselling funded by the NHS, and the high cost of individual private counselling (typically £50 - £75 an hour), mean that getting help can feel beyond many people’s grasp. With one in four adults in the UK likely to suffer mental distress at some stage in their lifetime, there is great demand for the help being offered by CCN therapists..
Now we are launching a new service which will take particular account of some clients' ability to pay.
Chiltern Counsellors Network was set up in 2016, following the closure of the charity, Chiltern Counselling. Sarah Prosser and Sue Bishop, recognising the need for the type of service the old agency had provided, recruited additional counsellors to join them in the new network.
Sarah explains that now "Chiltern Counsellors Network has decided to devote some of its capacity to providing a new, lower cost course of counselling." Sue adds: "We are equipped to offer a course of either six or twelve weekly counselling sessions to people on low incomes."
The counsellors in the network are all members of professional bodies such as BACP and UKCP, with at least three years training and public practice; many have considerably more.
They provide sessions between 9.00 am and 9.00 pm during the week from the network’s new base at Chartridge Lodge Chartridge Ln, Chesham HP5 2TU. Some CCN counsellors also work from other locations in the Chilterns area.
